Who would get involved in something like that? A duo of trumpet and double bass, ts ts ts ts… That suggests an awkward solution of two musicians sitting in a desert, who want to make music and can’t find anyone but a double bass player and a trumpet player. However, the truth is quite the opposite. The two ingenious instrumentalists have found each other in a gigantic pool of top musicians in Central Europe, and have made the impossible possible in a heart-warming and head-turning way: double bass and trumpet as a duo. But if you add their two voices, the drums integrated into the double bass, a bit of whistling, body percussion and a flugelhorn, you have a trio or quartet at work. A description of these two cross-country travellers hardly does them justice, as they all too easily go beyond the limits of any description. And what does the music sound like in the world of Brein and Gansch?
