Connections

"The most precious bond between human beings is humanity." In the Olympic year, we can certainly borrow the thought of the famous Jesse Owen. The dark-skinned runner won his Olympic medals in Berlin in 1936, accompanied by the grim gaze of Adolf Hitler, who just a few years later plunged the whole world into war and wrote down the most horrific and greatest crime against humanity in history.

Nhis outrageous trampling of everything that makes us human also characterized Karl Amadeus Hartmann, the composer whose concerto forms the heart of the current program. With his music, he courageously drew attention to the atrocities of the Nazi system early on. His Concerto for Clarinet, String Quartet and String Orchestra, which was created between 1930 and 1935, is a desperate cry for humanity, compassion and empathy poured into poignant music that cuts deep into the soul. And he calls for performers who know and are able to show the most vulnerable part of themselves to the audience.

Ban easier soloist than he is Mate Bekavac, therefore we could not wish. The sensitive artist, who is famous not only for his virtuosity and absolute devotion to musical muses, but also for his depth and spirituality, will be joined on stage by excellent like-minded and like-minded musicians who will take us to the highest and purest spheres of human being. They will prove that genuine bonds between people, especially those forged in a moment of complete sincerity and devotion, are the only way to a better, more humane world.

Unfortunately, the cold and damp autumn wind blew away on Sunday morning concert in the pavilion City park. We remain optimistic and move it to Friday, September 20 at 17 p.m, when the weather forecast looks even kinder. A walk announced for the same day and time, we moved to 16 p.m. and arranged it in such a way that it will end in the park, where you can also enjoy the concert.

Skeep your fingers crossed that the weather will agree with the new schedule! (Just in case, stay tuned for our posts in the coming days.)
