The Sensitivity of the Balkans

"The sensitivity of the Balkans is a program that I personally particularly like. Although I didn't grow up with this kind of music, sevdah really touches the bottom of my soul and is one of the most moving pieces of music I've come across." is about the program that will take us to the Balkan peninsula and remind us of the intertwining of our roots with the South Slavic nations, said Mate Bekavac.

BAlkan is rightfully considered one of the most culturally diverse and richest European regions. The thousand-year wind of nations and cultures at the crossroads of East and West, which contributes to this wealth, also brings constant friction, battles, separations, losses, and suffering. Perhaps it is here that the reasons for the emergence of a musical genre, which has no equal in the world of malona, can be found in terms of emotional charge. The most tender and strongest emotions found a home in her and spun into a whirlwind of longing and that hard-to-describe pain, which is both cruel and sweet at the same time, forming the heart of a sevdah. The result is a unique musical language that conquers the world because we all understand it. We just have to let it go. And open your heart.

Čto conclude with Bekavč's words: "Music therapy that flows directly into the blood."
