He achieved his first musical successes at various competitions, including first prizes at Prima la musica and Gradus ad Parnassum. Performing as a soloist at a concert with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra under Sir Yehudi Menuhin at the age of 15 was a formative experience for the young musician. In 2001, he won an audition for the position of tuba player in the Vienna State Opera’s stage orchestra, a post he has held ever since. As part of this
engagement, he regularly substitutes in the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic.

Albert Wieder is at home in classical music as well as jazz, popular and folk music. He has played in formations such as the Vienna Trombone Ensemble, Ensemble 11 of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Thomas Gansch Dixieland Allstars, Mühlbacher USW, Dietmar Küblböck’s Trombone Odysse, Azamat – das Grooveunegheuer, Bullhorns, Pro Brass and others. In 1998, he founded the group da Blechhauf’n with friends and has been a member ever since. From 2015 to 2017, he had the opportunity to perform with Mnozil Brass in the major concert halls of Asia, America and Europe. During this time, the ensemble Wieder, Gansch & Paul was formed, with which he has been performing concerts ever since.
