Georg Breinschmid

Classically trained and having held positions with leading orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, he indulges in a completely unortho dox repertoire, based in jazz but with many branches into other musical worlds, from Viennese song to classical music, and from Dada to cabaret. His exuberant creativity is expressed in kaleidoscopic double CDs and a variety of stage programmes that range from the finest classical music to absurd wordplay.

Breinschmid describes his barrier-free philosophy of sound and poetry as follows: “I make, play, write, compose, write lyrics, sing, pluck, paint so many different kinds of music not to prove anything to anyone, but because for me it is just the simplest, most natural thing to make and create music this way. Boundaryless, just the way the world is.”
