Tilen Artač
Tilen Artač is a cellist, comedian, impersonator and satirist. He received his master’s degree from the Zagreb Academy of Music under Prof. Valter Dešpalj and then continued his music education at the Graz University of Music and Performing Arts with Prof. Rudolf Leopold, as well as studying chamber music with Prof. Chiu Chou.

While studying, he achieved notable success, including winning the first prize at the European competition Alpe-Adria in Gorica, as well as the first prize and a gold plaque at the Slovenian national competition. He is a member of the piano trio Tempo giusto, with which he won first prize at the Slovenian national competition and at the European competition in Majano, Italy. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed throughout Slovenia, at Vienna’s Musikverein, as well as in Amsterdam, Paris, London and Dubrovnik. He has appeared as a soloist with the Zagreb Philharmonic in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb and with the United Orchestra at the Bled Festival. He also performed with the 2012 Festival Maribor Orchestra. As a member of the ensemble Cellomania, he has collaborated with the celebrated musicians Mischa Maisky and Giovanni Sollima.
Since 2004, Tilen Artač has been a member of the team of impersonators and artists of the radio show Radio GA-GA. As an impersonator, he has portrayed many characters and brought a unique charm to this popular radio show with his sense of humour, so that his sparkling wit and skilled impersonations have become indispensable. He is the winner of the third season of the talent show Znan obraz ima svoj glas, the most watched show of the spring 2016 season on POP TV. Between 2004 and 2010, he participated in the television show HRI-bar under the direction of radio and television legend Sašo Hribar. In these shows, he created the unique character of the psychologist Ifigenija, who always spoke with the show’s guests in a particularly frank way. In the role of co-host, he has appeared in various popular shows (Kdo si upa na večerjo? Zaigraj še enkrat, sam and Poldnevnik) as well as in a range of TV entertainment shows.
As an impersonator and comedian, he also contributes to the radio show Prizma optimizma, in which Radio Slovenia’s First Programme visits Slovenian regions. As well as being known for his impersonations of various personalities, Tilen Artač’s voice can be heard in many animated films (Horton Hears a Who!, Arthur Christmas, The Smurfs, The Lion King, Airplanes, Monsters University and Ice Age 4). In the GodArt tandem with Jure Godler, he has performed with the world-renowned stand-up comedian, impersonator and actor in the Police Academy films, Michael Winslow. At the annual St Nicholas Concert organised by the Rotary club, Tilen Artač appeared as a tenor soloist accompanied by the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. His performance of an operatic adaptation of the song Gangnam Style subsequently gained more than a million views on YouTube in just three months.
In 2012, he received the Frane Milčinski- Ježek Award, which RTV Slovenia awards to the most deserving artists for their original achievements or oeuvre in artistic genres of radio and television creativity that follow the tradition of the noble spirit of Slovenian writer, satirist and performer Frane Milčinski-Ježek.
