Urban Marinko
Urban Marinko has been a regular member of the Orchestra of the Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana since January 2022. Before that, he played in the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg for two years, first as tutti player and then as the deputy leader of the cellos. As a member of the orchestra, he performed at the most prestigious festivals and events, such as the Lucerne Festival, the Salzburg Festival and the Mozart Week.

As a member of the orchestra, he performed at the most prestigious festivals and events, such as the Lucerne Festival, the Salzburg Festival and the Mozart Week. In Slovenia, he is a member of FB Banda, which operates under the artistic direction of Mate Bekavac, and he also performs regularly with the Slovenian Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra. He works with the Orchestra of the Verdi Theatre in Trieste as a deputy solo cello and has collaborated as a guest solo cellist with the Salzburg Orchestra Soloists and the orchestra I Musici di Parma, as well as giving solo recitals in Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Germany and Sweden. In the 2018/19 season, he was a solo cellist in Philharmonie Salzburg. Urban Marinko studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum with Giovanni Gnocchi and Enrico Bronzi, and gained teaching experience as an assistant at Giovanni Gnocchi’s seminars. In 2022 and 2023, he was a jury member of the Young Cellist competition.
