Janez Usenik

Janez Usenik while studying at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana, he began to get more serious about journalistic work, performing arts and the media. He continued his professional career in these fields after abandoning his studies.

Between 1997 and 1999 he was the host of the program on Radio Študent, and between 1999 and 2000 on Radio Antena 1, while since 2001 he has been working as a journalist with POP TV, mostly for the show 24 ur. Since 1999, he has been performing as a stand-up comedian and organizer of events and is a translator, lyricist and screenwriter. He also ventured into theater and worked as an actor with the Šentjakob Theater.

Usenik was the co-writer of the film A rustle (Triglav film, director: Janez Lapajne, 2002) and co-writer of the series Pure ten (author of eleven episodes, POP TV, director: Branko Đurić, 2012 and 2013), is the co-author and main lyricist of the musical Flowers in autumn (director: Vojko Anzeljc, 2014), author of the libretto for the musical Veronika Deseniška (director: Marko Plantan, 2016), co-author and lyricist of the musical Vesna (director: Vojko Anzeljc, 2017) and author of the dramatic text decameron (Šentjakob Theater, directed by Primož Ekart, 2018).
