He participated in several competitions at home and abroad, where he usually achieved the best rankings. The first prizes in Castelfidardo, Pula and Klingenthal should be mentioned as the most important. Awards and favorable reviews from the professional public opened the door for him to the concert stages of prominent venues and festivals in Europe and North America. He has played music at eminent festivals such as the Salzburg Festival, the Zagreb Biennale, Slowind, the Kragujevac Accordion Artists Festival, the Ljubljana Festival, and at prestigious venues such as the Slovenian Philharmonic, Cankarjev dom, Concert Hall in Berlin, Semper's Opera in Dresden, Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Baden Baden Festival Hall, Waldbühne in Berlin, Music Center in Helsinki, etc.

He performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Berlin Chamber Symphony, the Prague Philharmonic, the Baden Baden Philharmonic, the RTV Slovenia Symphony, the Slovenian Philharmonic Chamber String Orchestra, etc., and played with conductors such as Christian Thielemann, Marco Armilliato, Michael Sanderling, One Shao and others.

He strives to establish the accordion as a concert instrument and to this end collaborates with renowned domestic and foreign composers. Through these collaborations, new works are created, which are a regular part of Lebno's concert programs and at the same time expand the classical accordion repertoire. In addition to original accordion works from the 20th and 21st centuries, his repertoire also includes works by masters from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. In addition to recreating, Leben is also involved in composing and arranging. He writes for various ensembles, and his works are performed at home and abroad. Klemen Leben taught at the Franz Liszt College of Music in Weimar, and now he takes care of the teaching of innovative musical thought at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet and the Ljubljana Academy of Music.
