Nina Pirc

Nina Pirc started learning the violin at the Krško School of Music, then continued her studies at Velenje High School of Music with Igor Ulokin and at the Ljubljana High School of Music and Ballet with Jerne Brencet.

In 2011, she graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana in the class of Dejan Bravničar. As a chamber musician, she received the student Prešeren Prize in 2010 with the quartet A la corda. With the string sextet Offstring, they recorded the sextet Spomini na Florence by PI Tchaikovsky for the archive of RTV Slovenia. With the same ensemble, she was twice invited to a seminar in Schaffhausen, where she trained under the mentorship of Ana Chumachenko, Wolfgang Boettcher, Wen-Sinn Yang and Menahem Pressler.

In the years 2010-2013, she was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, and now she is a member of the FB band, which works under the artistic direction of Mateo Bekavac, and she also plays in the string quartet Adora. Since 2011, she has been employed in the Symphony Orchestra of RTV Slovenia in the section of first violins as 1st tutti player.
