We have more than enough knowledge and experience to do that - the cultural offer for children and youth has been one of our top priorities since Narodni dom Maribor was founded. With the Kekec subscription, we have planted the seeds of love forprome culture and theatre in entire generations of children and young people. We are one of the few institutions in the city and region that systematically and continuously provides a theatrical offer for children.

In order to make sure that the performances from the Kekec subscription leave a lasting impression on curious young minds and stay with them as long as possible, we have enhanced the theatrical experience with creative workshops following each performance. During these workshops, hosted by the experienced mentors of the MARS Maribor Institute, the youngest viewers - still full of impressions - create art inspired by the performance they attended. The workshops are free of charge, and to make the subscription accessible to as many people as possible, we offer free admission to one adult accompanying each young enthusiast. As part of this subscription, the traditional carnival celebration is organised every year, featuring Slovenian musicians who create music for children. Nothing can affect the good vibes of this celebration intended exclusively for the youngest. Not even weather, because it is held in the beautifully decorated General Maister Hall. The final touch is added by creative workshops where children can make their own masks and learn face painting. No wonder it's considered the best carnival celebration in the city.
