Orchestral Series

You no longer need to travel to European major concert hubs to experience the performances by the most famous and renowned orchestras, conductors, and soloists because we regularly host them at our Union Hall as a part of our Orchestral Cycle.

The Czech, Moscow, and Leningrad Philharmonics, the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, Concerto Köln, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Russian State Symphony Orchestra, the Basel Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Modern, Kremerata Baltica, conductors such as Paavo Järvi, Kirill Petrenko, Valery Gergiev, and soloists such as Midori, Hilary Hahn, Julian Rachlin, Julia Fischer, Marjana Lipovšek, Sol Gabetta, Khatia Buniatishvili, Christian Gerhaher, Mischa Maisky, and Gidon Kremer are names, celebrated even in the most prestigious concert halls around the world.

By hosting the greatest and most sought-after classical musicians, the Orchestral Cycle guarantees a superb concert offer comparable to those of the leading musical centres of the world.

The Orchestral Cycle is the oldest, the best and the most prestigious cycle of classical music concerts in the region hosting the most prominent symphony and chamber orchestras, conductors as well as soloists, and it successfully places Maribor on the European concert map. With years of experience at the highest level, combined with expertise, sensitivity, and a deep understanding of the local environment, it ensures top-quality programmes and a dedicated audience base. Despite global trends, the number of its loyal and discerning subscribers continues to remain stable. The Orchestral Cycle successfully addresses both enthusiasts and the most demanding connoisseurs of classical music. It provides the audience with top-notch concert experiences and connects it with global musical currents. This cycle also contributes to the continuous professional development of the Concert Office, the oldest organisation of its kind on the territory of the former Yugoslavia, which is today an established and equal member of the European classical music network. Above all, it enriches the concert scene, which is particularly valuable for a city with less than XNUMX inhabitants and should never be taken for granted.
