The Wind Potential Map shows a number of opportunities for renewable energy from wind in the Savinjska and Podravska regions. In this context, there is a strong interest in Slovenia for the installation of wind farms, which should be located preferentially in already degraded areas and should involve the local population from the outset.
Unfortunately, practice to date shows otherwise. To do better in the future, we are organising a consultation with representatives of local civil society, municipalities and others with an interest in wind farms.
At the consultation you will learn what a fair and inclusive siting process for wind farms should look like.
You will also learn about a user-friendly online tool that outlines all the possible processes for siting wind and solar farms and when and how the public can get involved.
